Parents: How do you feel about homework for your first grader?

I understand that some feel that homework is not necessary for children this young. I personally think that practice is needed to master a skill or concept. I will be conscious of the amount I assign so that they are not overloaded. I know that they still need time to just be kids! I would love feedback so that we can continue to work together while we train your children for the future!
